Revere USCG/SOLAS Life Rafts are renowned for their uncompromising quality and design sophistication. In addition to meeting the requirements of the International Convention of the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1983, as amended, the USCG/SOLAS Life Raft holds United States Coast Guard Approval.
Meeting the needs of all types of commercial craft, the Revere USCG/SOLAS Life Raft range consists of two models: standard throw over and davit-launched. These rafts come accommodate 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 persons and davit- launched in 12, 16, 20 and 25. Every Raft comes packed in a weatherproof fiberglass container to keep the raft protected for longer service life. The container is secured to a steel deck mounted stowage cradle with a hydrostatic release, allowing for both manual and automatic launching. A space saving âlow-profileâ fiberglass container and aluminium cradle assembly is also available for the 4, 6, and 8 person rafts. Maintenance Tips
-
Annual Certified Servicing â Have the life raft opened, inspected, COâ/hydrostatic release tested, and repacked by a USCG/SOLASâapproved service center at required intervals (often annually) to ensure deployment reliability.
-
Inspect Container & Cradle â Regularly check the weatherâproof fiberglass container and aluminum cradle for cracks, moisture, or seal damage; address issues to maintain structural integrity.
-
Check Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) â Verify the HRU is undamaged, properly mounted, and within service date so automatic release functions correctly if the vessel sinks.
-
Monitor Survival Kit Condition â Periodically inspect pack contents (flares, water, food, first aid, repair kit, etc.) and replace expired or degraded items well before use.
-
Keep Dry & Clean â After exposure to saltwater or spray, rinse with freshwater and ensure internal items are fully dry before stowing to reduce mildew and corrosion.
-
Protect from UV & Heat â Store the raft out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to preserve fabric, seams, and pack integrity.
-
Crew Familiarization â Conduct dry deployment drills so all aboard understand where itâs stowed, how to release manually, and what survival gear is included
